Selecting the correct file format.


When requesting your Instagram file, please ensure you export this in a JSON format. Below, we will highlight this step for you so you can submit this correctly.

Written Instructions


1. Open your Instagram App

2. Go to your Profile by tapping the profile icon on the bottom right hand corner.

3. Tap on the menu with three lines on the top right hand corner.

4. Tap on Settings and Privacy

5. Tap on Accounts Centre

6. Under Accounts Setting, tap on Your Information and Permissions.

7. Tap on Download your Information and then tap “Download or transfer information

8. Select on your primary Instagram profile only by tapping on “Clear all” and then tapping on your Instagram account only.

9. Tap on All Available data and if shown, tap on Download to device.

10. On the “Create files to download page”, tap on Date Range and set it to Last 3 Years, then tap on Format and set it to JSON and finally tap on Media Quality and set it to Low. <- FOLLOW THIS STEP


11. Once done, Tap on Create Files. 


12. You’ll receive a notification or email when your file is ready to be downloaded - this can take up to 24 hours.


⚠️ If you do not select your format as a .JSON your MSR points will be deducted.
